The Best DIY Hair & Scalp Serum: for longer, stronger hair.

Hair oiling is certainly having it's moment in the spotlight, and with good reason. This is a simple ritual that can be incorporated into your weekly routine that can have a huge impact on the health of your hair.

Hair oiling is not a new fad though, it is a practice with deep roots in various cultures across the globe. In Ancient Egypt blends of castor & almond oil were used. Oiling was a sign of beauty and status, and both men and women used it to maintain healthy hair and protect against the harsh desert climate. In Ancient India hair oiling, known as "champi" in Hindi, has been a fundamental part of Ayurvedic practices for thousands of years. Traditional Ayurvedic oils, such as coconut oil, sesame oil, and amla oil, were used and often accompanied by head massages, believed to enhance blood circulation and relaxation.

While there is no shortage of serums available on the market today, making my own at home is my favourite option. It's easy, affordbale to do, and I can custom make it to what my hair and scalp like. Plus there's the added benefit of knowing exactly what goes into the bottle (no harmful igredients hiding inside). Let me walk you through how I make my hair & scalp serum, and some of the best ingredients you can use to make your own at home too.
