You're probably here after watching my bathroom deep clean reel, so here is the full run down with everything you need to know:

Deep Clean Step-by-Step

  1. Open windows first for fresh air

  2. Sprinkle bicarb soda over bath mat to deodorise, then chuck in the wash with the bath towels.

  3. Remove everything from surfaces

  4. Dry dust all surfaces so that you aren't just moving dust around.

  5. Optional, but pop gloves on (linked below)

  6. Drop a toilet fizzer in the bowl (recipe below)

  7. Clean toilet with disinfectant spray (recipe below). Leave it to sit for a few minutes.

  8. Wipe clean all parts of the toilet & seats

  9. Brush around toilet seat with thin brush that gets into the crevices (linked below)

  10. Use your toilet brush to scrub inside the bowl

  11. Close the toilet lid over the toilet brush so it is hanging over the bowl to dry. Give it a twirl and spray it with your disinfectant spray.

  12. Sprinkle bicarb with eucalyptus essential oil around base of toilet. This helps to neutralise odours from toilet spills (I have a toilet training 3 year old boy so this is essential in our home)

  13. Spray sink surfaces with your bathroom cleaning spray (recipe below). Wipe clean.

  14. Remove sink plug & clean (you can use another thin brush to get in the sides)

  15. Clean drain by sprinkling bicarb soda down and then pouring in some vinegar. This helps to loosen any gunk and break down anything that might be causing minor blockages.

  16. Wipe clean your plug & tap until shiny.

  17. Clean mirrors using glass & mirror spray (recipe below)

  18. Remove seal from bottom of shower door (beware, it's gross)

  19. Remove drain if you are unfortunate enough to have a long grate drain like I do. I take the seal & the drain outside to clean properly and leave in the dun to dry before putting back in.

  20. Spray inside shower surfaces and grout with bathroom cleaning spray (top tip: use mould preventing essential oils like Tea Tree, Clove or On Guard).

  21. Scrub inside shower with electric scrubber (linked below)

  22. Soap scum spray on shower screens (recipe below). I scrub with the electric scrubber.

  23. Followed by the glass & mirror spray and wipe down. So clean and shiny.

  24. Put all your bathroom products away.

  25. Vacuum the floor

  26. Mop using mop recipe (below)

  27. Charge & replace Bubble Diffuser (wanna know how to get the motion sensor Bubble Diffuser? see below!)

Recipes

Toilet Cleaning Fizzers

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup bicarb soda

  • ¼ cup citric acid

  • 1 tablespoon On Guard Cleaning Concentrate

  • 10 drops lemon essential oil

  • 10 drops tea tree essential oil

Method:

  1. In a bowl, combine bicarb soda and citric acid.

  2. Lightly spritz with castile soap or water until the mixture just holds together (don’t over-wet or it will fizz).

  3. Add essential oils and mix well.

  4. Press into silicone moulds and let dry for 24 hours before using.

  5. Drop one fizzer into the toilet bowl, let it fizz, then scrub and flush.

Disinfectant Spray

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup distilled water

  • ½ cup white vinegar

  • ½ cup 3% hydrogen peroxide*

  • 15 drops tea tree essential oil

  • 10 drops eucalyptus essential oil

  • 10 drops lemon essential oil

Method:

  1. Add water, vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide to a spray bottle (preferably opaque or kept in a dark place, as hydrogen peroxide is light-sensitive).

  2. Add essential oils.

  3. Shake gently before each use.

  4. Spray on high-touch surfaces like taps, handles, and sinks, leave for a minute, then wipe clean.

*Use only 3% hydrogen peroxide, the standard household version. Do not mix stronger solutions without diluting properly.

Bathroom Surface Spray

  3. Spray onto bathroom benches, basins, and shelves, then wipe clean.

Glass & Mirror Spray

  • 1 ½ cups distilled water

  • ½ cup white vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (helps make it extra streak-free)

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients to a spray bottle and shake well to dissolve the cornstarch.

  2. Shake before each use (the cornstarch may settle).

  3. Spray onto mirrors and glass surfaces. Wipe with a lint-free cloth or newspaper for a streak-free shine.

Shower Screen Spray

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup white vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon natural dishwashing liquid

  • 1 cup warm water
